I had my car at the track yesterday and it was seriously stumbling after about 6000 rpms. I had to back off on the throttle because I thought something was going to break. Anybody have an idea what might cause a B16 to stutter only at high rpm's 6k-8k range. This used to be where my power band was the best but lately it just stumbles when it gets up there.

Does it do it at WOT, or when you're like say cruising on the highway or accellerating lightly? Also, does VTEC still engage?

 

check all of your ground wires especially the thermostat ground

 

It's only at WOT, I don't like to cruise at 7000 rpm
I have checked the grounds, they seem to be fine. Any other suggestions? I was thinking plugs/wires/fuel filter, air filter etc

VTEC works fine, kicks in right where it should

mine was doing that too- i changed teh plugs & fuel filter & it's better now; but i have more problems b/c i'm leaking fuel/oil onto the plugs b/c my seals are bad. oh well. as soon as i get all of my parts teh rebuild will start.
