Default Chroming out a Valve Cover...?

What are the pros and cons of chromng out a valve cover. I heard something about they may melt the chrome after driving over 80 Mph?...Is this true?

i really dont think a chromed valve cover would melt. i mean, take a look at the specific heat it takes to melt it. you could go with aluminum to save money and polish it up real nice, but its a biyotch to keep looking nice and clean.
