Default Bench bleeding the brake master cylinder on the car

While changing to ss brake lines, I decided to use a turkey baster to suck out the old brake fluid out of the mc. I then refilled with good fluid and proceeded to bleed all 4 corners. I bled until no more air bubbles showed up, but my pedal feels horrible. When the car is off, it is nice and firm. As soon as I start the engine, it turns to mush.

I'm guessing I may still have air trapped in the mc. Is there a graceful way to bleed the mc while it is installed on the car? Will fluid get all over the place when I unhook the lines at the mc?

I also need to replace the RF bleed screw, as fluid is seeping from the threads. Again, can I expect fluid to shoot out everywhere when I unscrew the bad valve and install a new one?

I blead mine on the car and didn't have any problems. I bought some short lines with the right thread to fit the MC and bent them so they went back into the resevior, below the level of the fluid. Pumped a bunch and all was well.

The fluid will not "shoot" all over when you unhook the MC or the bleeder unless someone is standing on the brakes. It will ooze nicely though, so be sure to have rags to protect any paint.

Haynes describes bleeding the mc on the car by just unhooking the lines and watching air/fluid squirt out I definitely like your use of bleed lines like you were bench bleeding.

I also hope the new bleed screw I pick up tomorrow solves my leak at the caliper. I've never seen a bleed screw leak at the threads like mine.
