PLEASE HELP!!!! Cat install went bad
I was installing my carsound cat at a friends house today. We had to cut off all the old bolts with a dremel becasue they were rusted on there pretty good. When I cut off the last one, the cat dropped and pulled the 4 wires from the o2 sensor out. It didnt pull them out from the o2 sensor itself, it pulled them out from the other side where clip is. So there were 4 open holes and I didnt know what color wire went in which hole. There is a green, white, and 2 black wires. So I finished putting on the cat, plugged the wires in 4 random holes, and now i am getting a check engine light. I tried moving the wires around but still got a check engine light. Does anyone know which order the 4 wires go. Also, I didnt kno which 02 sensor hole to use. I used the one closest to the header. Is this correct??? It is the hole on the right in the pic.
i did a quick look up in my helms
all i can find is
yellow/black is positive
orange/black is negative
i will get more info when i get home from class if no one else chimed in to help

Try the two black wires towards in the front. Green wire towards the driver and white on the passenger side. Be sure to push them in all the way.
just reset your engine check light after evey combination you try. the button is underneith your steering wheel behind the plastic liner. it's an actuall button.

thats the matinence required light.... but ill give that wire combination a try.... is there any way someone can go check the order their wires are pluged in if you have any free time? Also, did i put the o2 sensor in the correct spot? or should i have put it in the other hole? thanks for all of your help.

Are you talking about the backup fuse that affects the radio? The one under the hood by the battery? I didn't know that fuse affected the ecu.
I got the cat from a h-t member. It already had the flanges and 2 o2 sensor holes. But does anyone know the carrect places for the wires? Also, my car got louder... is that becasue of the cat or because of the 02 sensor not being pluged in correctly. BTW, I also wave my stock exhaust on right now
thats really weird cause the same exact thing happened to me once. the 2 black wires go on the same side, they are never diagonal from each other. i cant remember exactly where the other ones go, just keep trying until it works. try putting the 2 black towards the front and then the green and white in the back...if that dosent work, switch the green and white, if that dosent work, put the black in the back and green and white in front, then switch them, etc. you should get it after a few trys. to reset the ECU real quick, take out the fuse in the engine bay fuse box as above...good luck and let me know how it goes.
the exact same thing happend to me when i installed my DC header..... i wish i could remember which ones go where, but i was a year ago......sorry to not be of help....
