Okay, I think my friend is getting a little annoyed that I keep borrowing everythign from him, considering he has given me alotta free stuff too...

Well, im starting my swap at end of April, for my ls/vte conversion, so I ask you ppl, would you guys rather have a helms manual, or a factory service manual?

I guess this is more directed to those with the 2 manuals.

by the way, which year manual should i get?

my car is a 94, but the vtec items im throwing on will be a 96/97

so, question is, which book, and what year.

Helm = Factory Service Manual

Helm, Inc. is the publisher. Honda Motor Co. is the author.

Although, they make denote two different books. One is labeled "Shop Manual" and the other is "Service Manual". From what Helm has told me, they're identical and the same.

The "Shop Manuals" might have the holes punched in them for binders. Thta's all I can think of.

 

Helms = the exact same book that Mr. Acura Tech picks up and references when he is working on your car.

Haynes or Chilton are the alternatives, which are skimpy and nowhere near as accurate or extensive as the Helms.

 

you should probably just get the one for your year, but if you only need snippets of the ls block and vtec head, you can download the 92 helms manual from g2ic.com. look for one of my posts, itll be in my sig

 

flava! u did the auto->manual swap and can't appreciate the value of gettin ur own helms yet? haha... get one! and like they said.. helms is the factory manual.
