Would I be able to hook up a carsound cat to a stock exhaust?
Looking to get a jdm 4-1 with a carsound cat, but wanna chill with the exhaust right now. Would the carsound cat hook up properly to the stock exhaust?
AND
I've been reading a lot about carsounds crapping out, are there any good alternatives?

You can bolt up a jdm 4-1 and carsound cat to a stock exhaust.
The problem is NOT carsound cats.
If you want your carsound cat to last, you must tune with a vafc, hondata, etc. If you don't, it will burn up, or the catalyst will break free from the mat it is attached to and rattle around.

I had the jdm type r header on my car with a carsound cat bolted up to the stock exhaust, had NO problems what so ever, sold the JDM header, bought a JG used the same carsound, still no problems, and I will use the same carsound once my SMS header comes in.
I have no experience with carsound cats but my dynomax cat has hung in there for a couple years... Any aftermarket cat is likely going to require modifications to your exhaust system. I cut up my twin loop to have mine fitted.
