Solo2 National Tour hittin' Houston this weekend! April 5th & 6th
I think Houston topics in this forum are one of the most unsuccessful posts on H-T. Sometimes I even wonder why I go to the trouble?
Big event this weekend. Come on out and take a look if you get a chance. Very serious competition and lots of fun. I think last year we had people as far out as Colorado. That's a really long way for 6 runs!!!
I dont think the Civic or me is going to be very competitive in STS. I only have an intake and my suspension, and of course Falken Azenis tires. We shall see. I am going to concentrate on having fun and learning a lot.
How about you guys???

I'll probably be there Sunday to watch and take pictures/video. Might see you there...
P.S. Eric, regarding your GSR - what shape was the transmission in after the accident and is it still available?
P.S.S - and I appreciate the trouble you go through with posting about the Houston region....kind of the same appreciation I get when posting about the Houston events...
And here's a cool aerial shot of our autocross location:

broken differential mount...again
rear shocks are completely blown
other things taking priority
but......it does give me an excuse for kyb's/RB springs some comp. mounts and other suspension goodies. RX7 is hurting right now, but I might come by and watch.

Hey, last year you had people there from as far away as Maryland... which I do believe is further than Colorado!!
I'm not going this year... I'll be going to the Dallas ProSolo the following weekend instead.

Thanks Karen,
You should have done both!
Good luck to you next weekend.
Oh yeah, after hours of mapping and using a very high powered super calculator, I have determined that Maryland is farther than Colordo.

AGH!! You guys are killing me.
I really wish I had gone now. It would be like my 3rd autox EVER and I wish I would have taken the opportunity to goto such a big event.
Events in my region usually only have like 30 cars or so...usually only like 3 cars in my class. I could have learned a lot.

What an incredable event. Houston sure puts on some serious Solo events!!!! A lot of people were complementing this event by saying it was as close to Nationals as you can get without going to Topeka!
Well, remember how I said I wasnt going to be very competitive... I lied. I had the fastest time in STS on both days and overall one and a half seconds off the closest competitor for the weekend. Thank you again to everyone who helped in getting me and the car ready for competition.
Tried to put the results here with out success???? Sorry.

It was a good turnout, met some great people, saw a few old friends. Eric really did really well, he's on his way to becoming a great driver. His new car did better than I expected. I missed out that weekend; I'm too busy running the shop & didn't have time to work on my own car. Well at least it was great to co sponsor him. (nice wheels & tires eh?) hint hint

Just wait for all the boost protests in STX. It's probably going to be so bad that I may run STS at the large events in my 91 Civic, or at least at nats.
I know most of the guys that will go to the tours around me and they'll be fine, so that's good.

Yes thats me. And proud of it too. I new going to the event that the car was illegal in that respect. This is only my second AutoX in this car... So I did not think that me or the car was competitive. I was very wrong about that! Stupid move on my part. But I still know who really won the class, so does most everyone else at the event.

Sucks, but those are the rules.

Yeah, It's a shame that happened but "thems da rules". Maybe the SCCA will say something about the shift ***** next year.

It does suck that those are the rules, but how stupid is that? Does anyone know why that would be there in the rules so specifically?

are you plannin' on putting the stocker back in? the wheel from your integra (if you still have the car) will fit. or if I remember correctly you could legally run STX (aren't aftermarket wheels allowed in STX? or is that fixed buckets I'm thinking of?)

The rules say that a steering wheel with an integral airbag "may not be changed". Therefore the integra wheel may not be used, only the stock wheel may be used. I have no plans on changing the wheel.
