Ridiculous Mileage!
I got 363 miles to my last tank. Best part was the gas light wasn't even on when I put more in. At about $1.80 a gallon for 93, my GS-R is officially an economy car! My car sees VTEC on a daily basis as well (just so y'all don't think I'm a weak-kneed old man)
Honestly, I don't know how it happened. Call BS if you want, but I shift at about 4k normally, and cruise at 85-90mph on the highway(about 4-4.5k). I also make repeated 3rd and 4th gear highway passes. I've never come close to this mileage before. The most I've ever got was like 310.

I'm telling you, it's a miracle!
Don't forget, I live in Texas. $1.80 is the most expensive its ever been here. It's also the home of G.W. Bush (good thing he's an oil man

I don't understand why people would call it a miracle. I get 32mpg out of my GSR all the time during long trip traveling 85mph. if you do the math 13gal * 32mpg= 416miles. For a DA, they use even less gas.

Shift at 3k-3.5k rpm in each gear and ease the throttle.
The trick is to use as little gas as possible. Cruising in neutral helps tons too
B2 - who is the king of mileage cause he drives like a grandma

man I don't understand how you did that. The most I have ever got out of a full tank is about 250. Sooo whats wrong with my car, My cousin has the same gsr as I do, 97 gsr about the same miles on it 80-85k, He also gets about 310-320 on a full tank.
Damn that's cool...I get 300 miles with my teg (11 gal?). I'm thinking to move to Texas serious end of the year. Stuff is so much cheaper done there. Hopefully I can find a better job. Going to TX in two weeks
Damn man that's some good mileage!! I can't believe your gas prices are THAT nice and you get THAT much mileage. How much highway driving do you do?
I always thought I got bad gas mileage until I decided to see how much I would actually get if I ran it all the way to Empty.. The light came on at least 10 times until I pussied out and went to the nearest gas station. I got 310! Thats the most I've seen. And I was thinking I get only 200-250 miles per tank.
When I filled up, it filled up to about 10.7 gallons which means I got close to 29mpg. Woohoo.
Now on a new tank of gas, I'm doing an experiement where I shift at least 3000-3500 and never go above 4k avoiding Vtec. Hope I get above 30mpg!
BTW, premium gas actually went down after the war started.. from $1.90 to about $1.74.... I live in southeast Michigan.

some of you need to realize that if your car has mods on them, they will most likely cause worse gas mileage.... especially if you have one of those free flow exhaust. Also sticky tires will lower your gas mileage (which most of us have).
I am using XGT V4 for the winter... with an average of 5 min warm up every morning... mostly local driving... rev matching and heal & toe at every shift that's not a regular upshift.... I shift around 3500rpm to 4500rpm (no, my car doesn't need to see the high rpm daily). Only engine part not stock is K&N drop in filter and ITR muffler. I get about 27-28mpg average.
