I did about 3/4 season in novice.

kind of funny, there is a guy in this region who was in novice when i started autoXing a year ago, and i look at the results from this year and he is still in novice.

Only one! And I kept missing the local schools. Then I finally could make it to a school, and it was too late. I had already won one event in a regular class, so I wasn't allowed to get into the school!

 

depends on your local club.

We have one club that gives you 3 events in novice, unless you win the novice class, which throws you directly into the regular classes.

Another club I run in lets people stay in novice for 3 years!!! Which is just silly IMO. There are some pretty quick novices who take the fun away from the real new guys in that club.

 

I ran one or two events as a novice, then jumped right it in with the big guns.

 

My club is the same way (I think). You're allowed to run as a novice entrant three times. By then, you should have your class figured out.

I never ran novice, which may or may not be a good thing. I dunno.

 

when I started a couple year back, I won my class and so I got bumped right away... I was actually quite disappointed

Stay a Novice for as long as you can.

Same here. One event and got bumped, then got my *** handed to me.

Of the local clubs, one is 3 events, the other is one calendar year.

 

I ran 2 events. This season, I am voluntarily moving up.

 

I ran novice my first event, got fed up with the silly PAX and went straight into DSP and ran an awesome season last year.
