To all the All motor People
Why go all motor if you can spend the same amount of money and get a turbo and go faster??? I just want to know what you all motor people has to say about the ups in going all motor. Any of you all motor people ever regret going all motor? Im very indecisive about either going all motor or turbo, driving me nuts
the main reason im goin natural is because it is a little more reliable and i kinda like all motor better even though it may not bring as much power, most of the time the power comes early and i just rather go all motor...just my opinion, there is nothin wrong with either of them, just do what you want and have the resources to do..good luck man its all preference i say do a couple more searches then ask some more questions because there are a lot of threads on this topic and it is a long going debate so good luck man
its more challenging and racing series will allow it. another is im not looking for peak power but more of usable power and a nice, smooth powerband layout. turbo is good for drag, but if you want to do more than that ie: race continuesly in a long period of time, the turbo might overheat.
I would say for two main reasons. A) reliablity. Typically (not always) your engine will last longer if it is All motor rather than turbo. B) MONEY! And your statement about the things are very very true. It might cost the same in the end but the all motor way has much smaller steps. For instance, i have to lay down 3k for a decent turbo for my car. Then build the bottom end, get electronics, tweak the system, etc. The point is its hard to have an "inbetween step" to going turbo. It would be like buying the turbo. Then waiting a couple months then buy the intercooler, etc etc. You wouldn't realize those gains for a while, ie till you finished your collection of parts and installed, while with an allmotor the steps are smaller. Intake, headers, exhaust, Throttle B, pullys, pistons, rods, cams, valve springs, valves, etc. etc. I can buy each piece individually and realize the gains/benifits of them immediately. I don't need a better throttle body to have a good intake manifold (it would help of course), and i don't need pullys to have stronger pistons. That way i don't have to lay down 5k to get it all done at once. So while its the same during the end i can kinda "piece together" my car at my own schedule. Which means i can stop whenever i want incase cash needs to be gotten quickly i can just stop and my car will still be faster than it was and most import it will still run well.
Those are just my reasons. I would love to go turbo but for what i see my car becoming its not the best way to go.

i live in the bay area, a fat turbo kit sitting in my engine bay is just asking for trouble from the POPO. My all motor setup, or most for that matter looks like a stock GSR with an intake and header, when its not
