Default A good link for helmet sizing...

I found this link while looking for a way to size my head for a helmet. I think it works well too. Just print out the page, tape the letters together and go nuts.

I also got a great deal on a Bell m2 from VPR, Thanks Victor!

I would be cautious when buying a helmet without trying it on. If you read that helmet tape is suggested for a Shoei,Arai, and HJC. I can't speak on HJC,but I own both a Shoei and an Arai. I wear a M in the Shoei and a L in the Arai. I would buy a M from OMP,but the Bell M2 in a M is too big? All I'm saying is helmets are not consistent in their sizing. This goes for different brands as well as sizing among the same brand. The Japanese made helmets all seem to run smaller. Just trying to help. I'm sure Victor will let you swap out a size if need be

Yes, I understand this and I knew it before I bought.

I cross-ref'd the numbers with bell's sizing chart.

I'm a 7¼ and that's all that really matters.

I do understand each helmet brand has its own respective sizing differences. I may be taking a bit of a chance, but in my scenario right now it's worth it.

You might well get lucky with your process but, no - it is not all that matters.

Helmets aren't like hats that conform to the circumference of a noggin irrespective of its actual shape. VERY generally speaking, there seem to be two different "fits" of helmet out there and people tend to fit in one and not the other. I have a SHOEI/Bell shaped skull and don't fit in some other brands regardless of size, since a pressure point can make wearing a helmet for a 30 minute session unbearable.

I think some drivers err on the side of too loose for safety, to compensate for a lousy fit. When someone holds the helmet and you turn your head, your scalp should move on your skull rather than the helmet moving 'round on your noodle.

There is NO other safe way to fit a helmet than to try it on and wear it for 30-45 minutes.

Thanks, point noted. I have no other choice other than to take my chance and exchange if not correct, I can handle that. I've noticed people comment on how some helmets are made differently, not even in respect to their numeric size. I understand this can be a very relevant when picking a brand and size, only time wil tell though. Thanks for the advice.
