Default how to install speedo cable?

I have a CRX DX and i can't figure out how to get that speedo cable back into the tranny, get the clip in and get the boot over it. I've tried putting the clip in the boot and then pushing it over the cylinder the speedo cable slides into, but with no luck. Is there a secret to this? Also, what's the trick to getting the speedo cable to seat all the way in the tranny?

there was a post on this 2 days ago but ill tell you anyway cuz im nice...you take the speedo cable and at the tip of it you pull the little metal thing out the end like an inch and then you slide the cable into the hole....then you put the clip on and you just pust that metal piece with the grouve in it so the clip clicks on to there...then you go test it out...if it works then dont even try to pull it out to see if it will come out because its not going to move anyway

first off lets look at yoru inventory

you need to have

1.speedo cable
2.small horse shoe retaining clip
3.tranny with out speedo installed.

you should have these (sorry for making this so basic)

This is how i installed my speedo cable after fightign with it and not getting it to work.

1. find the slot that is cut into the tube the cable slide in. (you cant see this you have to feel for it.)
2. take the clip and side it around the tube so that one leg of the clip is inside the slot, adn the other leg on the outside of the tube.
3. pull the boot up the speedo cable a little to make it easier to work.
4. place speedo cable in the tube adn push till you hear a click try to pull it back out. if you can repeat untill you get yoru clip situated right.
5. slide boot back down and your done.

if ou lok at the end of teh speedo cable you will see it has a grove all around it, the clip fits inside teh grove and holds it in the tube. I nver found a picture but when i do my swapo i will take oen for others with the same prob.

good luck.
