Anyone in here a Honda certified mechanic, or equivalent?

I'm hoping someone in the SoCal area has some free time and would be willing to help me out.
I'm thinking about purchasing a transmission from a 92-95 Vtec model, but I'd need to know that it's good.
I don't know how much work it is or how much time it would take, but I was hoping some generous honda-techer would help out another honda-techer. While I know that it wouldn't be adequate, I'd hope to treat you to lunch, etc as exchange for the assistence.
Please message me or post here.
Thanks!

It's gonna be hard to just "tell" how good a tranny is (such as synchros) with it out of the car.
If you're asking someone to tear into it and look, they can probably tell you about the condition of the gears, but to be honest with you, once it's apart, you might as well do something with it.
I'm not a mechanic, but I think it'll be hard to tell what kind of condition synchros are in just by looking unless they're REALLY messed up. If you've ever seen one, you'd laugh. They're little pieces of nothing... it sucks that they cost so much.

Thanks. ^_^
So my options are to open it up to find out if something is REALLY wrong with it or not, and just stick it in and see if it works.
I guess I should just work out as much with the seller as possible in terms of a return.
