Default Strong Fuel Smell

I just installed a FPR and every time I shut off the car now my engine wreak of fuel. I've checked all the lines and nothing is leaking. However, I've noticed one thing tho.

On the FP guage when I shut off the car instead of the gauge going all the way down to zero it stays at like 30-40 for a little while until it settles down all the way. My friend has one in his car and I've noticed that when he turns off his car the gauge goes all the way back to 0.

I've compared my setup to his and it's exactly the same. What am I doing wrong? Please advise.

It usually goes down to zero slowly, that's normal.
