The primary oxygen sensor (info needed)
Ok, today I got my first code for the primary 02 sensor on my R engine.. I have a P28. I think I got some oil on it last night from doing my oil change.
My question is:
If I do not replace it, will my engine run with a gimp-*** air/fuel mixture because of this causing me to feel slow? And if I DO replace it, might I notice anything?
TIA

Does your engine feel slow? You should totally notice if it goes into limp mode. Most O2 sensor codes don't put the engine in limp mode though, at least it's never happened to me with the couple O2 issues I've had.
My engine feels a little bit slower over the past 2 months.. I'm thinking this is what might be causing it, or the fact that I haven't changed my spark plugs since the summer. My cyl. compression is fine though. The thing is.. the code only came up once.
Then I jumped the ecu and got a code "1"
Then I reset the ecu
Then the CEL didn't come back on
So I decided to jump the ecu again for fun, and I got a code "1"
(I also ate a hot dog bun, and went for a run, and shot my gun.)
The engine feels the slowest in 5th gear at 3-5000 rpms. Vtec still pulls like a ****, however.
I think I need to replace these platinum NGK plugs too. They are the original ones that came in my engine from Japan last summer. I really like them, but they're expensive to replace.
