anyone with comptech 4-2-1? did you have to modify your exhaust?
which comptech 4-2-1 do you have (94-99 GSR or 00-01 GSR, Type R)?
did you modify the length of your exhaust to get it to fit?
thanks.
I am trying to put a 94-99 GSR Comptech 4-2-1 (slightly shorter than the 00-01) on my exhaust that is setup for the stock B16 exhaust manifold).

I have a Comptech 4-2-1 on my B16. I believe it's a GSR one (not real sure, I bought it used), but I also use a testpipe as well. The testpipe is from testpipe.com and made for b-series into EF swaps. It is a slightly tight fit, but it does fit. BTW, the 94-99 model header.
i had to put and extra section between the cat and header...forgot how long it was...it also has the O2 bung on the section
if i were to guess about the size of my hand...maybe little over 8 inches(got big hands)...
..tell yah when i get home

damn...8 inches?
so to get a 94-99 GSR header to work on an ef, you have to extend the stock exhaust 8 inches?

1990 CRX + HCP Mount kit + b16a + USDM Comptech 99-00 Civic Si 4-2-1 header + USDM 90 CRX Si Cat + USDM Greddy MX exhaust for CRX = bolts up perfectly.

on a related topic, with the search function down I can't get answers so I need to know some info on the B16a going into my 91 dx hatch. Rather than make a new topic, I thought I'd post here.
I want an AEM CAI intake and a DC Sports 4-2-1 header. Which model should i get (like, the '00 Si intake or the '91 Si intake, same thing for the header)?
I have a Thermal R&D exhaust already that was hooked up to my stock d15.
Thanks for the help on this important (to me!) question.

SeaBass,
For your AEM CAI, you have 2 options. The one for the 91 Si would NOT require you to move the battery and would fit OR 99-00 Si AEM CAI (bigger diameter) and move you battery to the trunk.
Get the DC sports 4-2-1 for the 99-00 Si. You will have to weld into the header for your O2 bungs or you will get parial throttle hesitation.
To wrap up this thread, I have come up with the following conclusion.
99-00 Si, 97-00 Type R, 99-00 GSR headers are all the same length (not height) and will bolt up to the stock civic/crx exhaust.
94-99 GSR headers are 6 inches shorter, requiring one to extend their stock exhaust by 6 inches.
