i was just wondering if anyone has any comments on lowering a 98 honda civic hatchback...i am looking at about a 2" drop....probably springs (if i can keep stock shocks for now it would be nice)....brand??? place to get it done???

 

ground control, or skunk2 adjustables...install yourself...save the money.

 

yeah Eibachs are great springs..I love my pro kit...it just wasn't low enough for me...Sportlines would be equally as good I imagine

 

I have Eibach Sportline on my car. Still have stock shocks though. My rims are 16"

 

You should do your shocks and springs at the same time. If you go with either GC or Skunk2, both will wear out your stock shocks...the skunk2's quicker than the gc's. I had skunks on my stocks for a while and after about 5-6months, I took them out and I could compress them by hand! Most people, along with myself, would recommend some sort of coilover, so you can customize your ride height. I've changed from 14" stockies, to 15" teg, to 17" wheels and I adjust my height each time to get it just right. Sort of a nice added feature. For sleeve coilovers, GC and Skunk2 are good, but again, you should replace your shocks too. For just springs, look into Eibach, H&R, RSR (if you can still find them), or kg/mm (rare and hard to find), but I've known a lot of people to be dissatisfied with just springs cuz it's either "damnit, half an inch too low" or "damnit, half an inch too high" or something like that. If you don't care about the exact height and just want it lower, it'll probably be fine...maybe I just know too many **** people.
