Momo steering wheel and cruise control buttons
I don't think I've ever cross posted before, but after asking this question in Roadrace/Autocross (locked after 5 minutes) and Appearance/Cosmetic (ignored because I wasn't asking about Altezza installation using Xenon gas
), I hope someone here will have the answer. Here is my question...
I'm looking into a Momo steering wheel, but on my '99 Civic Si there are cruise control buttons on the wheel itself. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures you could post about where you moved these buttons to? I'd really appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

I'd like to do this if possible:
I just spoke with someone at Momo and he told me that the hub adapters for my car are for racing use and therefore I'd lose function of the airbag(duh), the horn, and the turn signal return. I had a '90 CRX and everything worked perfectly with my Momo. Any ideas?
I have a MOMO steering wheel in my '99 Si. I lost function of all those items you listed.
When you remove your stock wheel there is a pack that contains all these wires that has to be removed. I regained function of my horn by tapping into the wire under the dash. After I tapped into the wire I connected it to a pickup shoe(one from a slot car), and bent it so it touched the back of the MOMO hub. Horn works great, but not cruise. I guess I could make it work by tapping into the wires on the steering column, but I just removed everything and saved about 10lbs.

only if you are creative enough and have the diy-mechnical skills (I know YOU do) you can do what you see in that pic. Before doing this, note the wires locations on the cruise control switches and which is the horn as well.... Remove your stock wheel, then remove the cable reel and begin the process--->
1) slice your cable reel in half, like cutting a bagel or english muffin in half.
2) bend the cable along its length so it is three wires wide yet still contains all 6 or 7 wires (cant remember how many are in there!).
3) you can then retain the cable reel and the multi-wire cable inside it which is used for cruise, airbag and the horn.
4) mount the momo/sparco hub to the steering column and run the multi-wire cable up between the hub and the brass ring at the bottom of the hub. You will nee dto slide off the brass ring, lay the cable on the hub, then slide the ring back on. This will secure the cable into place too! You may need to bend the cable in a few places to make it turn the 90 degrees from running around the cable reel to running up the hub.
5) find a way to mount your cruis control switches to the Hub or Wheel and you are all set to connect the wires.
Not too tough at all... I did the same but I was only concerned with the horn wire.
I will take pics of mine in the near future, but I've been saying that for a year now

Well what owen said works.
But what I did was easier. I took the entire bagel thing along with the cable reel and tied it somewher on the bottom of the dash. Next moved the cruise contrl buttons and made a braket to bolt under the dash. I put it where the integra has the maintenance required button. All you have to do now is stretch the wire button to the column. The airbag light will still remain on, but I took the bulb out of the dash.

Thank you all!
You guys are great. I was so disappointed that the Momo wouldn't work, especially since I found both the Competition and the Montecarlo for pretty cheap. If anyone reading this has never driven a car with a Momo steering wheel, they fit your hands like a glove! I can't wait to order mine, thanks again!!
That would be great! If you have a digital camera, e-mail the pics to me and I'll post them on here.

you can keep ur horn return. when u open everything up and pull the original hub off, u'll be able to see how it works and i'm sure u'll figger it out. its just a matter of keeping the right pieces.
my momo race felt soo good when i switched to it from a stocker. i was originally doing it just for looks and fun but once it was in i realized how well it was shaped

Thanks man! I found an article containing information about a Japanese hub adapter called "TOEI HKB Sports BOSS" from this link:

If I can find one, it will solve everything except for the cruise control, including defeating the SRS light from coming on. If that doesn't work out, then I'll get the Momo hub.
