Tach Question
I was cruisin' at about 90mph on I-95 @ 4500-5000 rpm, and I saw my tach fluttering. WTF!! At first I though it was my cell phone ( cause it affects my laptop) but this morning after I started the car and its warming up, it did the same thing. Does anyone know what causes this? BTW the car works fine. No misses, backfiring or any other kinds of strange ignition problems.
Could be the bearing are getting ready to go the shaft bounces around and does not get a uniform signal causing the tach to react. Mine did this for about two months before dieing all together. Pull the dist and rotate the shaft. The pluses due to magnets is normal but the play and grinding is not. Replaced bearings problem solved.
mine does the same thing, sometime i doesnt work , and sometimes it bounces around when im on the interstate using my turn signal, runs fine, quess it gets a little moody
Ok its a Zc dizzy.
1. I just replaced the coil and igniter Dec. 24, 2002. Could it have gone bad so soon.
2. I thought Honda dizzys could not be rebuilt. From my experience, we rebuilt them using a new core and replaced the electronic parts. Correct me if I'm wrong.
