Buy one for a 90-91 integra.
Do not use a 92-93 as it will not fit.
About replacing it, very easy if you have done it before. It can be hard if it's your first time at it. Get help, picking up the tranny by yourself can be a handful

the other problem i am having is that, when i am releasing the clutch, it sometimes makes a quick squeel, almost like a belt slipping sound, could this be a sign of a worn clutch as well?

I assume the clutch is worn because before when i shifted hard from 1st to second ,the clutch would bite pretty hard, now when it goes in, it almost sounds like the car is an automatic

Buy one for a 90-91 integra.
Buy this year but do research and find out what the different companies are and who is good and not. Good to use is the SEARCH button @ the top of the page. Type in clutch and start reading.

clutch squeels when it engages....do you have a ceramic pucked clutch?? they will squeel when the ceramic engages on the pressure plate and flywheel, about the slippage did you replace the rear main seal??? That is one large reason for the clutch to go out

rear main seal is inbetween the flywheel and the motor, while you have the tranny off should replace it anyways it about 15-20 bucks and it a really good investment

yep, b16 engine about 12-14 years old would say stock cluth verrry possable, the squeel may be the rivits from the clutch disc we would hope not, there brass and digging into the pressure plate or worse the flywheel, yank the tranny and replace ASAP so you dont have to look for a flywheel or if its too bad have its weight taken down... lightened flywheel hmmmmmm

if you are hard for cash, ACT sells just the Clutch disc and that'll get you by. I had to do the same with my 1st Gen B16 last summer. I ordered mine from http://www.carparts.com for $80 shipped.

you can also get a complete clutchmasters stage 0 which is a replacement for a 90-91 integra and that will also work and there usually pretty cheep. If you go with just the clutch disc make sure the pressure plate is still good and resurface the flywheel

well would it be better to replace just the disc with a race disc or replace it with a stock disc, pressure plate and bearing?

I would suggest all IMO. The pressure plate is the same old part and that can also lose pressure, fingers can go bad, and just wear out. Also should replace throw out and pilot bearings. I hate tranny swaps, would rather replace a whole engine so I want to get it right the first time

You can buy a remanufactured pressure plate at autozone for $45.00,
which are actually pretty good quality.

hey i had a similar question. i have a crx with a Y1 tranny and jdm b16. i want an inexpensive performance clutch, street/strip, or 6 puck i want it to grab real hard. what brands should i look at that are inexpensive, and are known to not fail?

also when i search for a clutch for a Y1 cable tranny what car should i search under since its not the tranny thats from a crx and its not a del sol vtec or a civic si, i beleive those are both hydo trannies. or does it matter weather its cable or not when im buying the clutch?

i'll start a post, to get more feedback

I think that since you are dropping the tranny, which is quite a job, you should upgrade the clutch, and replace the rear main seal.
getting just the disk and using a remanufactured or OEM presure plate is a bad idea.
A friend of mine did that only to drop the tranny and install a complete ACT clutch a few months later. I am not saying you HAVE to get an ACT, but do replace both the disc and pressure plate, prefferibly with a better performing one (stronger)

I agree with spaceballs, do it right the first time.
you might just have to drive your A4 around for a while until you can afford a new clutch set 4 ur b16.

Just FYI, an oem pressure plate with a 6 puck should hold over 200 whp easily.
From what i read a lot, people with stock or mildly tuned motors always talk
about going with clutches that hold insane amounts of power.

I have a CRX w/ B16a, and run 10psi daily. I have an autozone remanufactured
pressure plate (which is reman by either daikin or exedy if i remember), and an
ACT 6 puck unsprung. I daily drive my car, and have put a lot of hard miles on it.
I've run this setup for about a year now, and still have meat left on the clutch and
zero slip. Im not recommending you go with cheap parts, all im saying is that you
dont need to get a clutch that is more than you need. I can press my clutch peddle
in with 2 fingers, and it has plenty of clamping force for a B16a turbo.

what is a good place to order a clutch from? what type of clutch kit should i order? I am planning on building the motor eventually, nothing too serious, just stuff like new headers, cams, cam gears, etc.

how hard is it to drive a race clutch on the street?

Here is the clutch im using , it's a SPEC ceramic 4 puck paid $350 for it. IMO works just as good as the clutch master for like half the price.
Hope that helps,
Mike
