Default Observation: Tail-light bulbs prone to burn out on 5th Gen??

I just cracked open my driver-side tailight to replace a double-filament bulb and noticed the bulb seemed ALOT newer than the passenger side tail-light d-filament. Has anyone noticed if the 5th gen tail-lights are prone to burn out more often than not or do I have a small short somewhere? These were "Kyoto 27W/8W bulbs" btw if that changes anything.

I don't think so...esp here in california, there's not a whole lotta rain nor does it seem like there was any accident damage. I was looking at my wiring diagrams and it doesn't seem like there is any place for a surge to occur. Does anyone know if the "brake-light-failure sensor" is an actual 12V powered sensor? That is the only thing that is direct in line with the bulbs....

I have a '97 and I've never had to replace my bulbs EVER. 107,000 miles now.
