so yeah, im thinking that my engine is pinging and i have no clue what to do about it...it sounds so horrible, its louder than my intake and exhaust even when accelerating hard. damn it sounds ugly....anywho...where should i start?

 

could be anything buddy......is it kind of a tapping/pinging sound??? if so, i know that's the true sound of some bent valves.....get it checked out by a proffesional...do a compression/leaktest.....and have your codes ran

 

i would say, adjust your valves

 

if that dont work.....be prepaired to spend some cash

when did it start doing it (after fast accleleration,normal driving)
do you have any engine mods?
did you over rev?

pinging comes from under your car like it sounds like marbles rattling in your exhaust piping...

also it should not ping loud...especially if its just a stock motor..

if the noise you are hearing is that loud, and coming from the engine bay check your valves....

 

thats exactly what it sounds like...well...i guess ill get it looked at...

 

check your ignition timing

 

what octane gas are you using?
