Hello. I am new to the D-series (spent my time on B-series up till now). I am hoping you guys can give me some advise. I recently aquired an 89 Civic DX. I have a D16Y7 from my 98 Civic sitting in a crate in the garage. I am planning on putting it in the 89 Civic since theY7 only has 47,000 on it. My friend is getting a B16 for his CRX Si next month, so I can get A6 parts soon. The theme for my 89 is cheap fun daily driver. I know I can do a Vtec head swap, but I do not want to spend the money on that right now, so here is the plan. I also do not want to get into the short block, so please don't mention piston changes either.

D16Y7 Long block
D16A6 Intake/Th Body
A6 Dizzy
A6 ECU
Y7 Alternator
Si Engine Harness and resistor box.
CRX Si Tranny
Y7 flywheel and clutch (will this work with the 90Si tranny???)
A6 Exhaust Manifold (or maybe header but that is where I want to spend money for now).

Will all this bolt together and run??? From what I have researched, I think it will, but I want to check with the experts. Remember, I am not looking for monster performance, but just a solid runner.

you cant use the y7 alternator unless you do some wiring changes...this is what ive been told...the y7 block also has one of the coolent sensors moved from the back of the block to the the thermostat housing, so you have to extend wires for that as well...the y7 flywheel and clutch will work with the tranny, so dont worry about that...and everything else is fine, just make sure you use the A6 injectors...
