Default I need a SOHC wizard to help!!!

Just got this a couple days ago, And got all the parts i need to put it on my y7, Just need to know if im missing anything, and if i can actually put this on my 97 dx... its a 00 y8 manifold.

If you notice in the last pic, the gasket is for a 96-98 y8 manifold, and there is another one that i have, that is for the 99-00... need to know if i can use this manifold.

geez...where did you get such a clean manifold from? i tried to get a y8 and ended up with a z6...now that is just a paper weight

oh, it looks complete to me...the only thing i don't see is the throttle cable from an EX.

EDIT: heres the swap page http://www.makuragi.s5.com/civic_99/Y8maniswap/

Someone told me to plug the holes that go into the fuel injectors, at the top of the manifold with RTV sealant, and then i can use it...

Yes, plug the four small holes into the injectors, and the one in the middle, top part of the flange.

that looks a bit different then a 96-98 IM . No plugging..... was required on the 96-98 except for the cruise control. You can actually use ur y7 TB but swith the TB disk or modifiy it and flip it 180deg (like I did) to make it work .

yep, looks like all you need is the throttle cable. Have you considered throwing a b-series TB on while you are at it?

hmmm...a bseries tb will work on this setup? how about sensors? i thought the y7 tb was a direct swap with the y8...so modifications DO need to be made?

Keep the D-series TB unless there are a lot of mods already on the Y7. If you have a manual trans Y7 with the same idle air motor as this Y8 (two wire) then your Y7 harness should connect right up to this one.

Are you using the Y8 tb? You do know for the IAC valve there different form the non vtec. I just did a mini me swap a few months back. All you need to do is swap the Y7 and Y8 Tb. Use some kind of gasket and cover the Y8 IAC valve with a gasket and all you need to do is clip everything back on. As for the throttle cable. I just swaped the thingy where the cable hooks up. Swap the Y7 to the Y8 for the throttle cable.

That is from a manual because you have the iacv mounted on the back of the IM.

Also, yes, you would need to bore the IM out to use a b-series TB. Nothing an afternoon with a dremel and some sandpaper couldn't fix. I've got a spare y8 IM w/gsr TB sitting on the table. I'll try to remember to take pics of the process when I get around to porting it.

they dx tb, will fit, but won't work right, u need to change how the tb works, use a 92-95 ex tb spring, or a 96-00 tb spring, and move it so it opens the tb, so the cable can fit in it, ur going to have to d hook the dx tb, and move it and make it custom mounted to your fuel rail, look how i have mine.

This is a d16y7

I use the thing that holds it on the right side, and blot it with part of the fuel regulator. It holds nice, and the tb works.

I think there is a torque....but do you think you can get a torque wrench on all of those?? Its not easy....I don't use a torque wrench, although since I have been wrenching for about 10 years now, I can feel it, like calibrated hands.

If you want the spec....its: 23 N-m or 17 ft-lbs

You should get some hp out of it, around 6 to 10hp, mine pulls hard around 45mph for a automatic civic.
