I am buying a 92 Hatch and i am looking for the best swap. I just had a DOHC ZC boosted in my 89 CRX, and i was fairly happy with the Turbo. I was possibly thiking this time doing a B16 boosted or possibly taking a little longer and doing a CTR or B18c5 swap. I want some opinions on what you guys think would be the best route?

then build a 2 liter bottom end while you get used to the b16.

 

As if i haven't heard that one before, i am not going to go searching through all these threads i don't have the time man, i am in the millitary and time on the computer is limited, that is why i am asking fro peoples opinions right out, sorry if i seem like too much of a n00b for you, but i been around H-T for a while, i lost my password when i came into the millitary so i had to get a new user name and like that.

How well does the B16 mix with boost? I have heard liek it messes up the VTEC and like that. Which is why i am kinda hessitant to go B16 with boost

It`s one of the mor popular swaps for boost b/c of it`s low enterence fee. You can slap together a good, strong turbo B16 for relatively cheap...F/I will have much more info regarding this topic...

 

I've seen a few boosted B16's making decent power. It's all about how well it's built. You could never go wrong with a B18C either. Good all around platform to begin with.

Sorry to get all bitchy with you man Thanks for the advice, the one thing about the military is i get me around 7800 dollars here in about 20 weeks, so i will have cash to play around with. Part of my great 15,000$ sign on bonus to throw 4 years of my life away! So i picked up a 92 hatch from a friend, and i thought to myself a b16 with boost would be nice, but a CTR or JDM ITR swap might be nicer. Thanks for all the advice and this n00b lock down on H-T sucks!!!!!!!!!!!! for everyone

You will only get valued opinions if you state what your intentions of your car are. What do you want from your car? Are you going to drag race? Road race? Drive fast off and on off and on ramps?

I think a GSR swap is the best bang for the buck. It has hp, trq, and good revs. And also relatively low CR so u can boost it or run nitrous safely w/ stock setup.
