Default dust shields

I had my car up the other day doing some random maintenance, and I noticed that the dust shield on my Bilsteins got crunched somehow. I'm assuming they've been like this for a little while and I didn;t notice.

Do many of you guys even use the dust shields? I'm in the dilemma of either removing them completely for good, replacing them, or just leaqving them as they are.

Just looking for some input
