Default prelude S B20a3 pistons

I was checking out some dimensions on the pistons for other B series motors, and I found that they got the same bore. Since the prelude S only has 9:1 c/r, I was thinking about putting in some higher compression GSR or just LS pistons. Any advice? will it work? thanks

nope it will not work becuase of the simple fact that yes all b series motors havethe same bore the problem comes in with the wrist pins the wirst pins on all the other b series motors are too small you would have to machine the gs-r or ls pistons in order to acept the larger lude wrist pins and the truth of the matter is that once you do this you weaken the structural integrity of the piston by enlarging the hole, and plus you waste all sorts of money having the pistons machined and what not, your best bet in the long run is to purchase overbored factory itr or some other factory high compression pistons and then have eagle rods custom made for your application this may come across as expensive but in the long run you have a far more wide power band becuase you're running stronger rods that will be better suited for high rpm usage, and as we all know the b20 and b21 is only and should never be revved over 7500 rpm or else your rods snap in half from the velocity, your other option is to have forged high compression rods, but if you're going with an n/a setup then the former is the best proposition for you.

Thanx and have fun

actually, instead of having all that done (custom rods etc)... wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to get a set of 10:1 or 10.5:1 wiseco, JE, etc pistons and maybe a set of the rods that are already designed for that motor?
