Default ... crx swap... which engines are direct bolt-ins...

(( i wish archive searching was still enabled ))

... anyways, i was wondering which engines are a direct bolt-in swap into an 89 crx dx... i know that i have to do dpfi->mpfi, so thats a given... i have heard the jdm d15b vtec is a direct swap, any truth?... i have also been told that the 90-91 b18a from an integra is also a direct swap, true?... any others?... lemme know... thanks...

The only one that I can say for a fact (cuz I just did it myself) is the DOHC ZC.. arent all d-series direct bolt in?

almost all d-series are bolt in...no d16a1 in a 2nd gen crx, but 88-00 are bolt in, except wiring changes...

92+ D-series tranny's do not bolt in... Also, any 92+ d-series motor will need the 88-91 Drivers side Motor mount to fit properly. Other than this, and wiring changes you are good to go.

i didnt say anything about trannies, he was asking for engines...you can fit a hydro tranny in there if you really wanted to...but hydro is for pansies...

I'd say the easiest would be the DOHC ZC. Very cheap and quite fast IMHO. You don't have to $#%$ around with motor mounts and trannys just plop it in! I get 30+ MPG in the city and can keep up with GT Mustangs.
