Is The B17a Crank as good as the newer b series vtec cranks. Does anyone no the specs on th B17 crank.

if you ask it that way, definately dont know what you are asking about.
the advantages of running the 81.4 stroke crank is better R/S ratio
less sideloading, you can run a larger piston more accurately and rev
higher without losing too much TQ or bottom end. On the stock bore
it makes the B series engine essentially SQUARE, its a great way to make
not only power, but TQ at higher output levels. This setup would be ideal
for any kind of FI application, at least from a textbook perspective.
SQUARE meaning same bore and stroke. The K motor for instance in the
Type S RSX, 86/86 bore and stroke... thats a beast waiting to be unleashed.
Honda got 100ps/liter without even trying with that motor's stock tuning.
Im not an engine builder, however any Honda engine builder will make
extra effort to ****** up any atrat B17 crank, thats for sure.
