hey,finally went to the track for the first time today since the new clutch.it was bad cold and actually snowed just a bit.the track was not prepped well so the car spun like mad.i went 11.85 @ 128 mph.the car has about 3psi more left in it.i did not run anymore because the wastegate feed pipe broke and it would not make anymore boost.that was 8mph more and proved my theory that the clutch had been slipping all along.over all,i am very happy.with a well prepped track and some more tuning,it should be able to turn some low 11's @ 130+mph.

 

What clutch were you running before and what did you switch to?

 

i was running an act heavy duty pressure plate and a street disc.i thought it was an xtreme pressure plate(that's what i bought).i changed to a six puck disc and it still didn't work.now i have an extreme pressure plate and a six puck disc.

it has golden eagle sleeves,je 9.0:1 pistons, & crower rods.as far as slicks go, yes,that was on M&H 24x9.5x15 on bogart wheels.

i was runnning about 25 psi.i am running a custom manifold that i made.the pipe is not on the manifold though.it comes off of the downpipe flange.it is braced very well and has broken the weld on the brace twice.i am going to have to do something a little different now.

 

yeah you should hit low 11's. are you still running the same ign map that you sent me?

 

you got any picvs of the car with the slikcs on ? i wann check em out , im prob runnig thme too , but wanna see how they fit 1st.

if you mean the same ones on the power fc,yes i have not changed them.

 

well,i made three passes and tried three different launch techniques.the first time i just wanted the car to get down the track.i revved to 3500-4000 rpm and let it go.it booged really bad and ran a 12.3 at 126mph(low boost).the next pass i turned the boost up to 1.7 bar and went off of the two-step at 6000rpm.it spun very bad and ran a 11.92 @ 128 mph.both of those runs had good burnouts.the last run the car turned bad left in the burnout box and did not even make any smoke.since i did not get a good burnout i knew it would spin on the two-step so i launched without the two-step at about 5000rpm.it bogged and ran a 11.85 at 128 mph.as far as slip goes,there is almost no slip involved.i simply preload the clutch and let the pedal follow my foot up.i don't pop it ,just let it come up with my foot.i do that to save the axles.also,on all the passes i leave with the boost set at about 16psi and switch to high boost(whatever that might be at the time)at the top of first gear.i only made three passes because the wastegate feed pipe broke on the first pass and was letting exhaust pressure out.the break was getting worse each pass and the pipe was bareley holding on after the third pass so i figured it would be best to go home.

 

awesome man, you running stock axles? I am afraid i'm gonna break my stock ones with my CM stage 5 when i run slicks. What kind of 60 foot times are you getting with the 2 step and slicks?

 

i am running gck axles from advanced auto parts and they rock!
