Yup, heres a picture of mine...
A stock car would have the connection to the terminal before the part where it connects to the body.

Really, any mounting point on the tranny core is good, as long as you make a good contact between the batt and the engine, there is no trouble with it.

your suppose to also have the battery termnial cable go to the point on the body from where the tranny cable goes too...like in your pic...
