Default ecu chip VS vafc

this question just popped in my head

- why would someone chip their ecu AND get a vafc?
- could a VAFC alone do the same essential job as a reprogrammed ecu?
as far as fuel and vtec i mean

change rev limit, speed limiter, timing curve...those are the basics why i changed mine. then you can fine tune with the vafc

delslow94 is on the money.

also, chipping is relatively complex and not something
you can do every day unless you have all the tools and
the knowledge to do so as well as a dyno to play with.
as you get other mods, the more agressive timing curve
of the ECU remapping depending on the program will
allow you to get more out of basic bolt ons with less
tuning. However, if you want that extra oomph, the
VAFC will help with that and allow for microtuning,
however NO adjustments to timing map which is where
the real power changes come into play.
