Default your autox tire pressures for stock RE010's?

just curious to see what others are using. i'm still experimenting to find the best combination F/R.

p.s. i can't compete against cars on race tires. they're like 2-3 seconds faster on a ~65 second course...is that about right?

I autocrossed on my RE010's for a full season and those were the pressures that worked best for me.

39-40 F
33-34.5 R

I run 40 in the front and 35 in the back. Yeh, for people out there with racing tires, its not much of a chance for us. I get beat usually by about 3 seconds, but I'm sure partly its my driving skills I have no idea, though, how people claim to win first place in their class running on all stock R's, must have a weak division!

I've always kept the fronts 3 psi harder than the rear.

I've gone as high as 45psi on the front.

Speedy, can you do me a favor... post a link to your local region. I would like to see how you GS class does in comparison with the diff cars.

I just lost this last AutoX to a VW Corrado VR6 on race tires. Before I was beating him be 3+ seconds. That's why I bought my Mazda Millenia wheels. I'm mounting a used set of BF Goodrich R1's to change the odds once again.

Good luck to you!

-Todd

check out the results for david fauth in the GS"x" class. he is absolutely dominant and shows how good a type R can be at autox.

Speedy ~ Q's (for the fellow Italiano!)...

1. Did you just start AutoXing mid season? I only saw you listed for the last 2 events this season.
2. What is this *X* class?

Don't worry, you'll get better. I don't know David Fauth personally, but maybe he'll help you out. See if you can get a ride with him or have him ride with you.

I kind of judge my times against STS and CSP. I've been consistently beating all of STS and my times are competitive against CSP cars, but not quite good enough to want to run in that class. Of course I'm still on balding RE10's (7800 miles on them), but I'm getting as much as I can out of them before trashing them.

Patience young grasshoppa. You will improve.

I think *everyone* should post their local region so we can see how you're doing.

no, the first event was cancelled due to weather. i missed the next two due to prior commitments. i've run 3 events now, including those two you saw and one with a different local club.

guess it's a local thing. they lump all the "pros" into an "x"-pert class. so they don't embarass the rest of us i guess.

actually, i thought i was doing ok. i got third yesterday in only my third event. i'm pretty happy when i stay on the damn course.

Sorry Speedy. I didn't mean to offend you in anyway.

Take a look at my results for '00. I got beat quite a bit. Somehow I still won GS, but it was a tough season.

Why the question if you did not even bother to check your pressures all weekend Hahaha.
guilty as charged. i didn't check'em all weekend. the poll is for my future refernence, in case i ever get good enough to know the difference between 40/38 and 38/35.
