Default d16y8 head on d16z6 block

Tryin to put d16y8 head on d16z6 block. Got down to the distributor and its not the same. So where do I go from here? Will a d16y8 distributor work with the d16z6 wiring or do I need to some how rework the holes on the head or z6 distributor... All help is greatly appreciated.

We used the old D15 dist. on my friend's Y8 engine swap. The Z6 dist. should work fine.

dude the z6 distributor doesn't line up with the holes on the head.... either you have to just use 2 of the 3 holes and then it sits the distributor way back... surely someone has a solution to this problem

With my setup I'm using an OBD-0 ('90 CRX Si/D16A6) distributor, it lines up perfectly. I assume you have an OBD-1 vehicle, so you'll either want to give any OBD-2 (Y8) distributor a try, or perhaps any OBD-1 Non-VTEC dizzy. I think the 92-95 Dx motor has the exact same head casting as the D16A6, which means the distributor holes should be the same as well. I don't know the specifics on OBD-1 cars, but it's definitely worth it to take a peek at an old Dx dizzy.

I just completed my D16y8 in my EG6 , you have to use the D16y8 distributor .
All you have to do is rewire the plugs .... What I did is take all the pins out from the 92-95 distributor harness and swap the end of the plug to the Ek harness , Its pretty simple . The only pins that won't fit is the Big black/yellow wire and Dark blue wire , those I just soldered the pins from the Y8 harness and cliped it back together .
You can go the other way around if you dont have the harness from the Y8 dist .
