done mpfi swap but idles SUPER high ??? please help!!!!!!!!!
k all the wiring is correct and done. the vacuum lines are all connected. it starts right up but it idles super high. around 3000-5000rpms . i tried switching the tps wires and nothing happened still the same. i'm using an 89 integra TB cuz the manifold didn't come with an Si TB
also, the manifold has a solenoid thing at the back i think its the fast idle valve. is this the problem ? do i need to hook it up ? wire colors are totally different from the dpfi fast idle plug
replaced int manifold gasket with new one.
can anyone help me! i'm thinking its most likely the TB cuz i did the mpfi swap to my first car and it did the same thing and i thought i left a vacuum line off.

please guys! i'm desperate for help here! this is the only problem i have and i really wanna get my car running again!
Sounds like a TB issue due to the extremely high idle (most people complain of an idle around 2000, not 3000-5000). The fast idle valve isn't the issue, although you should hook it up. Put the striped wire from the wire harness to the striped wire from the fast idle valve (don't recall the colors at the moment). The wires go to the correct pins on the ECU, so it works.
k that gives me some confidence on knowing what the problem is (the TB) i will try an Si TB and it should idle normal then (still crossing fingers) i'll be back with updates as soon as i get a hold of an Si TB.

Since you replaced the intake manifold gasket, don't rule a gasket leak out as the culprit. Start the car up and spray some Carb cleaner around where the manifold meets the head and see if it finds a leak anywhere...
yeah i did that before to my other car and it didn't have any leaks whatsoever but i'll try it tomorrow see if anything comes up but i doubt it.
oh yeah the braided hose coming from the charcoal canister is not snug on the fitting on top of the TB. would this cause a vacuum leak ?
you really think its a huge leak ? cuz if it is it has to be somewhere in the int manifold cuz when i switched back to dpfi before the motor ran normal. i even used the same int manifold gasket.
i checked for any cracks around the manifold and i didn't see any.
so its not the TB ?? cuz i don't wanna drive a long way just to find out it wasn't the TB after all........

can anyone else confirm on what the problem is ? is there such thing as an eacv gasket ? cuz i noticed it was loose before and all i did was tightened it up ?

k guys i started it up and got out of the car and sprayed carb cleaner along the int manifold gasket, around the eacv, the fast idle valve and nothing happened!!
would a loose connection of the red braided hose coming from the charcoal canister cause this high idling problem ?
it idles still at 5000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i only let it run for not even 15 secs cuz i'm afraid something else might go wrong.
i'm getting my Si TB this afternoon or maybe i'll just get a complete manifold to be sure.

k here's the update! i started it up again and unhooked the eacv plug and the idle went down a little. i did this because i don't wanna ruin a perfect running motor so knowing that if i unplug the eacv the idle will drop so you can adjust the idle but even after i adjusted the idle. it still revs at 5000.
get this. i sprayed carb cleaner in the TB and the idle went down significantly then went up again real quick!!!

nevermind its the TB thats fucked! i took it off and took my friends Si TB and slapped it on and what do you know! it worked...PERFECTLY! no codes no weird idling just mint. thanks to those who replied. now i just need to get an Si TB and i'm on my way to more horsies
