Default Is there suppose to be a gasket on the universal adaptor on a power bleeder?

I got a power bleeder for xmas and I went to use it but I couldn't get it to pressurize. Now I looked at the Honda universal cap and I saw an old post about how to go to Home Depot and make it better, but shouldn't there be a gasket between the plastic resevour and the hardened plastic universal adaptor? Mine does not have one and I need to know wether or not to call Motive. Thanks!

Yeah, I bought the Motive Power Bleeder about a year ago. I don't think it had the gasket you're talking about, but I'm sure adding something like it from Home Depot would help out a lot. I actually wouldn't recommend this thing b/c mine would never hold a seal on the MC. I could get pressure, but as soon as I took my hand away from the MC, brake fluid would squirt out the sides. I just bought a set of speed bleeder valves from http://www.speedbleeder.com. With these things I can bleed my brakes in minutes without any help and it's only about $30 for all four. Definately the way to go...

the motive bleeder will not seal against the honda m/c

try rigging up a home depot solution with some weatherstripping

So I am thinking that we should buy some cork gasket paper and make up a gasket. I think that may help. No?

No problems with the power bleeder so far. The trick is to get the adapter squarely on the MC. Used it on a few cars so far, and have no complaints. Haven't done the home depot mod yet, but looks like something that would help the adapter sit squarely on the mc and reduce the chance of squirting brake fluid all over.

I've not had any problems with mine since the home depot mod. Here's a pic...
