Default irratic problem

This just started to happen to my car. It has been happening (periodically no rhyme or rhythem) to my buddies car too. He has the same set-up as me.
Anyways last week i was driving down the street in 3rd gear about 30mph and you know when you let off the gas the engine will slow the car down gradually, well mine slowed down fast. so i step on the gas and it's bogging really bad.It does this for a few min and then went away. It did it again the next day but it died while driving, i had to keep my foot on the gas or keep it in gear when it did this to keep it from stalling. It only did it for a minute then it was fine.

no cel's nothing.....
my setup is as follows..
holley 255lph pump
rc 310's
vortec 4:1
fields sfc
msd 6al
magnecore wires
ngk plugs (looked at them and they look good)
aem fpr
i think thats it...

Well as I keep blowing up map sensors(I got the wrong missing link or somethin), the car wants to do the same thing.

check your TPS sensor, it may not be plugged in all the way..
if not, check the ground cable on top of the thermostat housing, that's the ignitor ground, it may be loose

ok so i just checked those two, they seem to be fine.
The ground is on nie and tight and the plug is in all the way. I checked the wires and they seem to be tight (not loose on the plug)...any other idea's?
I drove the car today and it ran fine no problems at all. so mybe it was just having a bad day or two??? thanks

do this, at idle, rev and hold the throttle at 3000 rpm....
and watch the idle, does it stays at 3000 rpm ? or does it fluctuate and will not hold idle

ok for that i'll have to wait until tomorrow , my daughter is sleeping....do this once the car is warmed up? because my car runs like **** when it's cold (boggs a bit off the line, if i drive off and come to a stop and push the clutch in the vacuum drops to about 12-14hg and it idles really low) it does this when it's cold. once it's warmed up everything is fine. I figured that it was due to the larger injectors and the ecu is runing open loop (pre programed fuel maps) so it doesn't compensate for the extra fuel.

btw i'm sure you know open and closed loop but i get confused on which is which. so i added the preset fuel maps so you know what i'm talking about.
i know when the car is cold it runs under preset fuel/ ignition maps with no input from the o2 sensor, (open loop?)
and once warmed up uses the o2 to make adjustments (closed loop?) anyways you know what i mean....thanks again

well, I was trying to trouble shoot the sensor that may cause the issues...I did not know that you're under standalone.

update:
Today as i was merging to get off the freeway my car started acting up again.
Same thing as usuall. this time i noticed that may air/fuel ratio gauge wasn't working when the car was hesitating....then it would run fine for a second that the air/fuel gauge worked fine.???? So i started to thing that maybe it had something to do with the o2 sensor. After a few minutes of acting up the cel came on (yipee) so since i was clos to my mechanics shop i stopped in....pulled the code...code 3 map sensor......hmm I checked it all out and everything seemed fine.
Now my question is would a faulty map sensor cause the car to run like crap and die?I'm just trying to figure this out before i buy a new sensor...it's very irratic and not consistant ....thanks for any help

I already answered your question in my first post....I'm assuming you have a missing link, they get clogged sometimes, use some alcohol on a swap to clean it out. I doubt thats the problem tho, it may be, I dunno. Otherwise, I got 5 map sensors sitting here if you wanna buy one cheap. When mine went out it felt like that and it wouldn't idle at ALL...i had to hold the revs, went to the junkyard got a new one and it ran fine!

I'm just trying to verify if thats the problem or not. I know the cel came on and indicated map sensor but it's not constant. Today i drove the car for a while highway, and city driving with no problems at all.
If it was a constant problem then i would be more concerned with trying things out. I don't want to spend money on something i don't need. I can replace it but how do i know if it fixes it if the problme only happens every once and a while. If it starts happening more often then i'll look into replacing parts to seeif it fixes it. for all i know the cel for mao sensor could be because the map sensor saw boost accidently or lost vacuum....it never came on before and has not been on since...
