Or you could get a Magnaflow or Dynomax. Very similar from what I understand.

Since this topic is already here, are the ES, dynamax, and magnaflow mufflers straight throughs or chambered?

I thought $99.00 was a pretty good price from jdmhondaparts, so it is possible to get a cheaper price?

cheaper price then 100 for a stock looking exhaust system? you live in texas... there are a million mexican sweat shops here, just go in and tell them what you want and they will show you what you got. they will quote high, BUT always tell them you only have about 3/4 to 1/2 that and for sure they always drop price.

i got my muff from a shop with install for 35 bucks, ill post pics later. even though it didnt help anything because i still have stock piping in the way. ill post pics later

they're all straight-through. and yes, Magnflow and Dynomax Ultra-Flos are similar to the ES Oval and can be had for like $80 at any local muffler shop! and they come in stainless-steel, too. my local shop charges $70 for a Magnaflow stainless muffler.

Question for those of you running the ES...how do you like the sound? Quiet, Raspy, deep toned, high pitch? Have seen a few in person but never heard it.

My Magnaflow is really deep at the low RPMs and deafening in the middle RPMs. It sounds more like a hum to me rather than a screaming sound (like an Apex'i N1 round) with a lot of vibration.

damn Ultra-Flos are old school. i remember my friend had one on his MX-3 GS back in '94. from what i remember, they sound almost like a GReddy SP. he paid $180 back then, i don't remember if that included full piping or just the muffler by itself.

maybe you're thinking of the Super Turbo? the Super Turbo is non-straight-through and very very quiet. I had it on my old carburetor Accord ('88 LX ) and the car sounded stock except when it was warming up. then it hummed like a domestic but driving it was dead quiet. The Ultra-Flo sounds kind of crappy on Hondacuras. too raspy and high-pitched. The Magnaflows sound deeper and more bassy, IMO. but both are good brands.

i know summit racing ( http://store.summitracing.com/ ) has a 'summit turbo' 2.25 exhaust for pretty cheap ($14.75 ) . also check out the dynomax california boss turbo. it's also fairly inexpensive. same design w/ an oval canister and straight thru piping. i copied info from the summit website regarding the exhaust. see below for more info..
part#SUM-630122
$14.75
http://store.summitracing.com/
Vendor: Summit Racing Equipment
Product Line: Summit Performance Turbo Mufflers
Material: Aluminized Steel
Length: 18 1/2 in.
Width: 9 3/4 in.
Height: 4 1/2 in.
Diameter: 2 1/4 in.

Exhaust performance at a great price
2 1/4 in. offset inlet/center outlet, reversible, performance Turbo muffler

We knew our Summit Turbo mufflers would perform before we cranked up the dyno. But when our Summit Turbo muffler produced 21 horsepower (at 5,600 rpm) more than a leading competitor's muffler...well, we were floored. Made with free-flowing large diameter tubing, a turbo muffler will give you a deep performance tone without being too loud.

Sold individually.
