the h22 is known for its oil drinking... just check it every once in a while and you'll be good to go! it's normal.

i have to run regular 10w30 or 10w40 in my h23.

every synthetic that i've tried dissappears. example: i put 5 qts of Mobil 1 10w30 synthetic in and I was 2 qts low after ~3500 miles.

Same here. Amsoil disappears even faster than the Mobil1 for me. I'm starting to get some nice puffs of smoke when i first start it up in the morning, and then when i really get on it. We're thinking it's the valve guides..

ok.... you guys tried synthetic and went back to normal. thats not really recommended. synthetic oil coats everything, and pretty much doesnt go away. when you put normal oil back in, it has a problem mixing and lubing everything. thats why everyone says once you poor synthetic into your car you cant change back.
but anyways, do a leak down test. that can say if you have bad rings or something. but if your plugs are fine, it usually means your rings are good.

Had the same problem...only a quart every 700 miles
honda rebiult it and couldnt find the problem, luckily i had warranty still and they gave me a new one
oh the rings were bad when they rebuilt it but that didnt fix the problem, but they didnt rebiult the head so i dont know if it could have been the valve seals or somethign like that
also i had like black spots all over the rear bumper like unburnt oil or something, after every drive

every prelude gets those dots. My brother's, mine, my old managers, the two others i test drove... it's a prelude thing.

As for the switching from syn back to conventional, the old syn's you weren't suppose to, but the new ones are all labled "compatible with conventional oil"
