???? I did mine and cant think of any specail pliers I used. If you are mechanically inclined and have access to a hydraulic press then do the cv boot. If not just change the axle.

i don't plan of getting the boot fixed before i take off on my little road trip.. i don't have the time.. main concern is if anyone thinks its just koo riding with my car for lets say another 1000 miles before i fix it. because i don't want to be stranded in the middle of no where haha

hydraulic press what do you need this for you just need a BFH and a pair of dikes rags, and a razor blade i use the dikes to crimp that clamp but i am planning on buying the tool soon

and to answer your question yes you can take it on that drive with no problems but you will have to change the axle after that drive and not just change the boot as the bearings will be bad by then .. but still drivable

Well when we did mine, while its not neccessary, we cleaned the bearings out and needed the hydraulic press to get the bearings out.

Well...personally I wouldnt want to drive 100 miles on a bad boot, let alone 1000. It could really **** up the cv joint and then you would have a much more expensive repair on your hands...take it to a shop if you dont have the know-how or access to the right tools...I recommend dealer

Best thing just replace it cause you never know its cheaper to do it then get stranded in some country *** town.

Then you will be yourself for not spending that $75.

From past Exp its best to change it ASAP or else it will rip more shitup then you think.
