Yup....got my block and head back from the shop and today while i was trying to piece it back together, i noticed that the head bolts were sticking out farther than normal. i didn't think anything of it until i torqued down the head and tried putting in the camshafts. To make this story short, the camshaft was sitting on the center headbolts!! how do i fix this? i was thinking of taking a dremel and chopping off the top of the arp bolt. what do you guys think? will this weaken the bolt?
Pull the head and put 2 bolts on the stud and see if you can put them further into the block...

Make sure its the right ARP bolt in your motor. Next, take the head off and make sure its threaded in far.
Yeah, it's the same bolts that I had in the motor when I took it apart. I think the shop probably shaved off too much of the block and head!! damn, I really hope this doesn't hurt performance because I have spent over $1000 on this damn motor already!
Machine Shop musta owned your block\head...if the arps are hitting the cams...

I don't think they could take enough off a block to do that. Look for another problem.
