How can you tell just by looking at it, if it is a JDM Type R tranny or a JDM GSR Tranny??

 

you cant, cause some JDM GSR (SiR) Trannies have LSD like the Type R.
That is when you can look from one side to the other without seeing a little rod = LSD, if you see the rod = NON LSD.
Both have the same code # on it.
The R have shorter ratios than the Sir as well as A Different LSD.
The R LSD is a 10 bolt, while The Sir is 14.
You would have to open the Tranny to know.

I am going to have the tranny inspected (opened up) so what should i ask the shop to look for when they do it..... thanks
