I wanted to change my steering wheel, but instead I managed to destroy the steering wheel retaining bolt threads and the threads on the part of the column that the bolt threads onto. Is there any way to make new threads so that I can use a new retaining bolt?

What options do I have? Do I have any?

PLEASE HELP!!!

 

You can buy a tap & die set from the hardware store (you can buy metric or standard sets; you need metric) - maybe the threads can be salvaged...
