Default h23 wont start and I found out why now how did it happen?

I have posted a couple of times about my no start condition on my recently aquired 92 lude. I have ckd spark, fuel and still no start? I bought it this way. The previous owner said the oil light came on they went for oil and turned the car and hasnt started since. I have pulled the valve cover and I now see why the cam gears are off they dont put up at the same location however the belt still looks good aside from the oil on it? I know that normally you snap the belt or spin some teeth none which do I see? It does have a very small amount of slack between the gears? What happened is there a common problem this car has? I now plan on pulling the head and going after the bent valves but I want to make sure I shouldnt address something in addition? What about the crank pulleys do they suck or what? Where is the cheapest place to get head parts and is there any cheap upgrades I do to it while its apart? without it breaking the bank that is?

Huh. That happened to my GS-R this past summer. I was so frustrated with it. Sometimes the tensioner either goes bad or isn't tightened to spec, and allows the belt to jump.

I've heard that it's a big problem with preludes, a faulty tensioner..

my freind snapped a camshaft i couldnt believe it you couldn't tell by just lokking at it .but when you turn the motor [by hand]only a half the valves moved .he got the car from his aunt obout 3 years ago and i dont think he has changed oil once cause inside the valve area where the oil pools there was some serious crud .i think one of the oil holes plugged and his oil starved camshaft seized and it snapped.his car just stopped when driving and no noise he claimed.i wonder if that would bend valves too

it sure could and most likely did...there is no room for errors inside there. I was lucky about the care of my engine low miles and clean as a whistle inside. I would think your buddy would have head job and cam he would be in need of...
