Pulled the car into the shop today to just mess around with it alittle. I decided to check the oil since I hadn't done so in about a month. Pulled the dipstick and not a drop was on it. I was pretty scared so I decided to drain the oil to see (needed changing anyway). To my horror only about 1qt was to be found in the car and it was clumped with metal shavings. Is this bad?
Ok I'm kidding about the 1qt part
. It was a little below the last hole and took about 1.5 quarts. It was like this for maybe 100mi of highway driving. Any reason for me to be worried?

I once was 3+ quarts down. Oil light didn't come on or anything. Smoked for a bit, but still runs.
