Default I rarely do this... cool pic...

After fighting with my boost controller all day to get a consistant 10 lbs, and *thinking* I got it working right (how's that for foreshadowing?), I went out to do some boost pulls and take pics of the gauge.

*sigh* I feel so impotent, but at least it's a cool picture...

It's a manual boost controller that basically acts as a restriction in the line going to the wastegate. Pain in the ***, I tell ya.

i imagine you could run a large vaccum line and then cut a hole in the firewall and have the dial in the car if u wanted to cut a bunch...

MBCs aren't as good as electronic because at higher boost pressures, they cause boost spikes.

As for moving the MBC inside the cabin, that's not an option. That would cause MASSIVE boost spikes because of the ammount of line between the boost source and the wastegate. The turbo has to pressurize the line before it can pressurize the wastegate actuator. The more line there is, the more "lag" there is, and on a fast spooling turbo like mine, I'd probably see as much as 7 PSI fluctuation if I ran it into the cabin.

They have to allow for thermal expansion and contraction of the liquid.

Aside from the AFG they make, I disagree and challenge you to prove your statement.

I've had no problems with mine in over two years. Ever think that maybe you just got a bad gauge and need to have it replaced? And how do you reset a manual pressure gauge?

As for my setup, I have a dirty engine bay, so I don't take too many pics, but here's a few...

-Home made tubular steel manifold.
-Hybrid IHI turbo: VJ11 center section, clipped turbine wheel, ported turbocoupe exhaust housing, Turbocoupe compressor wheel and ported compressor housing.
-Supah hi-flo "mo' powah!" downpipe.
-MX-6 GT intercooler.
-1G Eclipse BOV.
-Some kind of manual boost controller.
-Ghettofabulous charge piping.
-12:1 FMU.
-Bosch inline fuel pump.
-Missing Link.
-Greddy turbo timer.
-NAPA- spec oil lines.
-Autometer gauges
-Air/ fuel
-Boost
-Oil pressure

*edit- and of course, the nessicary safety placard:

there is a lil screw on top of the guage... they call it "venting" in the autometer instructions... sweet ride

Thanks! ^_^

I have the normal non- liquid filled boost gauge, so I don't have the vent.

Replace the fluid with lightweight hyper-guage fluid - works every time!

BTW where is that sticker on your car?

Some guy was selling them on Ebay for $20, but he posted the graphic, and not a picture like what you see here... I have a ton of people that want them, so I'm going to see how much it costs to print up about 50 and sell them accordingly.
