i was driving my car home this morning and was kind of tired. so i decided to open it up. anyway, after driving through the whole RPM range to redline, i come to a stop light. i'm sitting there for about 4 seconds, and all of a sudden my car made this really, heavy clunking noise that was coming from somewhere in the engine bay (it sounded something like one of those road workers use to make a hole in the ground.... uhh, that tool that they aim downward or whatever). i gave the car some gas to see if the sound would get louder, but to my surprise it fainted away and never came back. this is the second time i've heard this sound. the first time when after i put the car back on the ground after cleaning my air filter. this sound came at idle and after hitting VTEC in 4th gear. anyone know what the problem could be? sorry for the long post. thanks for all that can input.

check around for any loose parts first. other then that its hard to point to anything more particular.

lol, yeah something like that. not as loud, but yeah, that's the best thing that i could compare it to. haha
