I/m after fitting a c/c DC JDM 4-1 to my JDM integra. I have a Mugen sport exhaust which had a sweet deep note to it before, but now after fitting the header it sounds spluttery and cheap and my exhaust now sounds like a $20 rice can. It actually sounds as if i have a leak/blow out somewhere but i've had the car on a lift and had someone check the whole exhaust system for leaks and there are none. I'm figuring that considering the air is now moving faster and freer that its giving the spluttery/raspy type of noise, but one thing i do know that if it doesnt improve then i'm putting my stock header back on (i think i can sacrifice a few bhp for a decent exhaust note)
Anyone esle with a DC 4-1 or any other 4-1 have similar experience with exhaust note after fitting the header??

i have a dc sports 4-2-1 header and i love it, i think it sounds and performs great, i have an edelbrock rpm series turbo muffler w/ strait through design and it has a real nice deep exhaust tone. it was only 80.00 through summit and its great, its not that loud either
My exhaust did get a little louder when I went from a DC 4-1 GSR header to the DC JDM 4-1, but with the stock Type-R muffler and B-pipe, it does not sound bad. I can't afford to have a loud exhaust because the Lakewood and Cerritos sheriffs are notoriously harsh on import drivers.
Mine also had a tinny/raspy sound as if there was a leak somewhere, but none could be found. This was when the header was installed on my ITR and again when it went on a '99 Si. The same Carsound cat. was used on both cars, so this may have something to do with the sound.

It must be the nature of the header in that case as i'm using my stock JDM cat which is smaller and more free flowing than USDM stock cats and probably similar in characteristic to the carsound cat...i'm going to leave it for a while, maybe when it gets coked up a bit, it might not sound as bad
