Default Do '97 Civic EX doors automatically lock after starting engine or reaching a certain speed?

I've had a cheap $100 alarm installed in my '97 Civic EX Coupe for a long time, and I will be pulling it out and replacing it with a Clifford Intelliguard 9000 in two weeks. With my current cheap alarm, the doors automatically lock after I start the car. I can't remember if my doors automatically lock before the alarm was installed. If the doors do automatically lock form the factory, did they lock after the car hits a certain speed (like my brother's VW) or did they lock upon starting the car? The reason why I want to know is so when I get this new alarm installed, I would know whether or not to tell the installer to reconnect the factory automatic door lock (if my car has it). Thanks!

your car doesnt automatically lock. its a feature almost every alarm includes, it usually engages them after 30 mph. its a civic, i dont have a gaslight, so its not gonna be 'thinking' about locking itself.

What kind of Civic do you have? Can anybody here with a 96-00 Civic EX or Si confirm this? I noticed that the '94 Civic you are selling has an Avantguard 4, which is basically the same thing I'm getting. Does that system have automatic door lock? If so, at what speed do the doors lock? I couldn't find any info on this from the Clifford website.

NO.

Simple enough answer, straightforward and to the point. Take it if you like or continue asking.

all dei lock your doors when you turn your key on,then they unlock the doors when you turn the ignition off,its a setting that you can easily remove or add.

ignition controlled door locks or speed controlled door locks.
