Is this unsafe/bad?
I noticed that the lower control arms on my 1995 hatch look crooked...they dont look like that on my Si...so what's the deal here?...do I need to replace them or are they supposed to look like that?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
look for heat marks on the high part of the bump. if you clean the grime off and there are noticible marks from shock or high-friction, they're bent. if not, they're made like that.
looking again i dont think they are supposed to be like that. look at the bottom of the shock. it should be parallel with the lower control arm mounting at the frame. then look at the bushing that bolts it to the spindle. my guess is it got hooked up there and towed like that. i have seen that on front control arms.

They should be straight. Being bent like that will cause binding during suspension travel. I would get those replaced and then get an alignment. You could snag a set from a junkyard for less than $50, or go with some aftermarket units like SRR or SSR, can't remember which one.
Yeah I didnt think so cuz on my '93 hatch they were straight...I only remember that becuase I had to replace two bushings and they were straight...Thanks for the advice guys!
definitely bent. i have the stock lcas from my EH right in front of me and they're straight as an arrow.
